The Dixson Visit

We have lived here a year and never done any of the local stuff!  It was so great to do so much for the first time with friends.  We did the whole Space Needle/Downtown Seattle thing first.  A lot of these pictures (including the one above) were taken by Jeanette.

I just thought it was funny how much these chairs looked like a crab...

 We went to the top of the needle.  The boys had a snack.  When we were done, we went to the Fun Forest (just outside the needle) for a few rides.  It will be gone by September, so I was glad the boys got a chance to go.

 

Reid couldn't make his go very well, but Cade figured it out pretty quick.  But he wouldn't bump Reid!  He isn't allowed to bump him when he's riding his bike, so I think the whole concept was too weird.  Plus he was having too much fun driving it around.

We went to Pike's Place Brewery for lunch and then got a fish at the famous market.

That is ooooone uuuugly monkfish...  they had a string tied to his head and would jerk it every so often to scare unsuspecting tourists.  Particularly shrieky girls.

The next day we went to Mount Rainier.  Brandon has wanted to go here since we moved.  It was a great trip.

Skunk Cabbage!  You never saw anyone so excited to see such a stinky plant.  I couldn't believe how much there was!  It was everywhere!

Reid insisted I take a picture of his mouth.  Et voila.

Brandon and his mountain!

We went back to the Space Needle and ate dinner one night for Jeanette and her daughter's birthday.  The restaurant rotates.  It's a heck'uva thing.

We also went to Mount Vernon to see the tulips.  We missed most of them unfortunately, but we did find some.  Enough to stop and take a few photos, anyway...

Last, but not least, we went to the Woodland Park Zoo.  It was so nice to go with somebody to help chase the kids.  We managed to see almost the entire zoo!

The ball doesn't go anywhere, but both the boys love it anyway.

No trip to the zoo is complete without birthday cake ice cream.  It tastes exactly like birthday cake.  All it needs is a candle!

We closed out the zoo and wore out the kids!

We had so much fun and we are so glad they came!
