Whatever "it" is we have it. We've all been dealing with aches and pains and runny noses the last day or two. I'm hoping it passes quicker than the last one did. Poor Cade had a cough for two weeks. Reid seems to have some sort of stomach thing, too. Just in time for his first shots, Monday.
He did some great playtime today since he was awake almost all day today (and most of last night, actually). He batted at toys and almost rolled over again. He is almost holding his head steady and he can hold his own body weight with his chubby, chubby legs.
Cade's speech is blossoming. He is repeating three and four word sentences and is beginning to piece together his own. He is loving megablocks right now because Dada made him a "bobot" a few mornings ago. He likes to stack them taller than his head and make them "fawing" (falling.) Any pile of disconnected blocks are "bobot shoes." We have also been modeling with Play Doh, which means that Dada or Mama make endless "sharts" and "whales" for him to gleefully twist appendages off and say "Uh-oh! Boke! Fits it!" He has started what I can only describe as playing with words. He adds "ie" to the ends of words like "ball-ie" and "fish-ie." We sometimes have Pirate's Booty in the house and he'll ask for "booey?" If it does not appear to be immediately forthcoming he begs, "booey ah booey ah booey ah booey...?" And today he started to experiment with "whale." It's one of the few words he has very good pronunciation of and now he'll say "whale, w-,w-,whale, w-, w-..." It's very interesting.
Mr. Reid has been awake almost all day today with only a few little cat naps . He is still awake at 12:32 am and appears to be nigh invulnerable to even the "sling and sway." I'm going to try to stick him in the swing and see if that has any effect whatsoever. Dear Lord, I hope so...
